KCHD is a general aviation airport in a great location for visitors to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and even San Diego and the L.A. basin. More about our location
What are your hours of operation?
Our office hours (including aircraft dispatch & pilot shop) are from 7:30am to 5:30pm, 7 days a week. Our fuel trucks and line service are available from 6:00am to 8:00pm, 7 days a week.
How long does it take to earn a Pilot's license?
This is a tricky question to answer due to many variables. Each student pilot learns at a different pace, and progress and retention is largely based on how frequently the student flies. Flight time, ground lessons, and personal study all contribute to the timeline. If a student flies 3 times a week and is dedicated to studying the material, a reasonable timeline to earn a Private Pilot’s license can be 3 to 4 months. Learn more
How much does it cost to earn a Pilot's license?
Total cost can vary widely based on a student’s learning pace and availability. There’s also a wide range of hourly rates for different aircraft types. At Chandler Air Service, Private training is done in a Piper Archer, and you can expect the total to reach about $14,500 dollars from start to finish. Unlike many flight schools, we do not charge this up front. All lessons are pay-as-you-go at your own pace. Learn more about our flight training programs
